In October 2025, the capital’s airport system, comprising Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino and Giovan Battista Pastine Ciampino airports, recorded a total of 5.1 million passengers (+4% compared to the same period in 2024), showing an improvement in growth rate compared to previous months.
Rome Fiumicino contributed approximately 4.7 million passengers, an increase of 4.3% compared to October 2024.
Continental Europe remained the area with the highest traffic flows, with an increase of 4.9% year-on-year. The intercontinental segment showed growth of 7.4%, mainly driven by North America, which, with +7%, continues to represent the highest volumes among non-European routes. The result was boosted by the expansion of the offer in 2025, with new connections to Minneapolis operated by Delta, Miami by American Airlines and Los Angeles by Norse, which were not available in October last year.
Other long-haul routes also performed well: connections to the Arabian Peninsula were up 8% year-on-year, thanks to increased frequencies by Emirates, Qatar Airways and ITA Airways, as well as Oman Air flights to Muscat, which were not operational in 2024.
Traffic to Central/South America is also growing, up 8%, with São Paulo again among the top destinations this month.
Long-haul African routes performed very well, recording a 12% increase, thanks to the expansion of Ethiopian Airlines’ connections to Addis Ababa and ITA Airways’ connections to Dakar.
Traffic to the Far East showed a 4% increase compared to October 2024, supported by Cathay Pacific flights to Hong Kong and ITA Airways’ connection to Bangkok.
Giovan Battista Pastine Airport in Ciampino recorded 338,000 passengers in October.

Over 16.5 million passengers passed through the airports of the Northeast Airport Hub (Venice, Treviso, Verona and Brescia) between January and October 2025, representing a positive trend of +3.4% compared to the same period in 2024. In October, over 1.7 million passengers were recorded (+2.9% compared to October 2024).
Venice airport handled over 10.2 million passengers since the beginning of the year and over 1.1 million in October. This represents an increase of +1.4% compared to 2024.
With almost 200,000 passengers (19% of total traffic), the domestic market was the leading market in the month in question, followed by Spain, Great Britain, France and Germany.
London, Paris and Madrid were the main destination cities chosen by passengers in October.
Total passengers on long-haul destinations operating at the airport exceeded 950,000 in the first 10 months of the year. The current network covers North America (United States and Canada), the Middle East (United Arab Emirates and Qatar) and the Far East (China).
Treviso airport handled 277,000 passengers in October and over 2.7 million in the first 10 months of 2025, with a positive trend of +5.6% on the previous year.
The main market in October was Spain, followed by Albania, Romania, Poland and Belgium.
The main destinations during the month were Tirana, Bucharest, Brussels, Valencia and Malta.
In the 2025/26 winter season, there will be 37 destinations available from Treviso with direct connections (flights operated by Ryanair and Wizz Air).
Verona Airport recorded over 330,000 passengers in October and over 3.5 million since the beginning of the year, an increase of +7.9% compared to the volumes handled in the first 10 months of 2024 (+9.3% in October alone).
The main markets for Verona airport in October, after the domestic market (41% of total traffic), were Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Egypt and Albania.
The most popular destinations for passengers were Catania, Palermo and London.
The IATA Summer season that just ended (April/October) handled over 2.8 million passengers, a historic record for Verona for the summer season.
In the winter season that has just begun, there are 60 destinations available to users, benefiting both incoming and outgoing passengers.

The domestic market recorded 309,225 passengers, while the international market recorded 438,441 passengers.
Brindisi Airport, on the other hand, recorded 311,553 passengers (-0.2.87%) in October 2025, down compared to October 2024.
Domestic traffic recorded 217,133 passengers, a slight decrease (-0.66%) compared to the same month in 2024.
International traffic recorded 91,481 passengers compared to 99,769 in October 2024, a decrease (-8.31%).
